Privacy policy
The short version: there are no accounts, your characters and photos stay on your device, and analytics and advertising partners may use cookies. Last updated October 7, 2026.
Who we are
This privacy policy covers ocmakerstudio.com, a free character maker run by OC Maker Studio ("we", "us"). If you have a question about it, write to contact@ocmakerstudio.com.
What we do not collect
You can use every part of the site without creating an account or telling us who you are. We do not ask for your name, email address, age or location in order to use the maker. To understand how the site is used, we use Google Analytics, described below.
What is stored on your device
The maker uses your browser's local storage for two things:
- Your current character on each maker page, so you can come back to it later.
- Your light or dark theme choice.
This data stays in your browser and is never sent to us. You can remove it at any time by clearing site data in your browser settings.
Characters, share links and downloads
Your character is drawn and turned into a PNG on your own device. The image is not uploaded to us or to anyone else.
When you press Copy link, your character is written into the part of the web address after the # sign. Browsers do not send that part of an address to the server, so we do not receive or store shared characters. Anyone who has the link can open the character.
Photos in the crop tools
The circle and square PFP makers let you open a photo from your device. The photo is read and cropped by your browser. It is not uploaded to this site or to anyone else, and it is not kept after you close the page.
Advertising and cookies
To keep the maker free, pages may show ads served by Google AdSense. Google is a third-party vendor, and it and its partners use cookies and similar technologies to serve ads, to limit how often you see the same ad, to measure ad performance and to protect against fraud.
- Google's use of advertising cookies enables it and its partners to serve ads to you based on your visits to this site and other sites on the internet.
- You can opt out of personalized advertising in Google's Ads Settings. You can also opt out of some third-party vendors' use of cookies for personalized advertising at aboutads.info.
- Google explains how it uses data from sites that show its ads in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Where the law requires it, for example for visitors in the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland, you will be asked for your consent before cookies are used for personalized advertising, and you can change your choice later. If you decline, you may still see ads that are not personalized.
You can also block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The maker keeps working without cookies.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4, a service from Google, to count visits and see which pages and tools are used, so we know what to improve. It collects information such as the pages you view, how long you stay, the site that sent you, your browser and device type, and your approximate location (country or city). Google Analytics does not log or store IP addresses, and we do not use it to identify you or combine it with other data about you.
Google Analytics uses first-party cookies, named _ga and _ga_ followed by an ID, to recognize repeat visits. In the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom and Switzerland these cookies are only set after you give consent. Until then, Google may receive basic signals without cookies, which it uses for aggregated reports.
You can block these cookies in your browser settings or install the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. How Google handles this data is described in How Google uses information from sites or apps that use our services.
Hosting and security
The site is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Like any web host, Cloudflare processes technical request data such as IP address, browser type and the page requested, in order to deliver pages and protect the site from abuse. Cloudflare may set strictly necessary security cookies for that purpose. Cloudflare's handling of this data is described in its own privacy policy.
When you email us
If you write to us, we receive your email address and whatever you put in the message. We use it only to answer you and to handle any follow-up, such as fixing a bug you reported. We do not add you to a mailing list, and we do not sell or share your message. We delete messages when they are no longer needed for those purposes.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, such as Picrew or the platforms where people use profile pictures. Those sites have their own privacy policies, and we are not responsible for how they handle data.
Children
The site is made for a general audience and is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has sent us personal information by email, contact us and we will delete it.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to have it corrected or deleted, to object to its use and to withdraw consent. Since the only personal information we may hold is an email you sent us, the simplest way to use these rights is to write to contact@ocmakerstudio.com.
We do not sell personal information. Choices about personalized advertising, including under California privacy law, can be made through Google's Ads Settings and the consent message described above.
Changes to this policy
If we change how the site handles data, we will update this page and the date at the top. Significant changes will be made here before they take effect.
