Circle PFP Maker
Crop any photo into a circle with a transparent background. Your photo never leaves your device.
Choose a photo, drop one on the frame, or paste an image.
Almost every platform shows profile pictures as circles, but they all ask you to upload a square and then cut the corners off for you. This tool shows the circle before you upload, so you can see exactly what will be visible.
Choose a photo, drag it into position, zoom until the framing is right and download. The result is a round PNG with transparent corners.
How to frame a face in a circle
A circle hides more than people expect. These habits give a better crop.
- Eyes above the middle. Place the eyes about a third of the way down the circle, not in the center.
- Leave air above the hair. If hair touches the edge, the picture feels cramped at small sizes.
- Keep shoulders in. A little shoulder at the bottom makes the head look anchored.
- Check the corners. Anything in the dimmed area will not be seen, including text and logos.
When you need transparent corners
Social platforms apply their own circle, so there a plain square works. A real round image with transparent corners is useful everywhere else: on a website, in a slide deck, in an email signature, on a resume or as a sticker over another picture. That is what the PNG from this page gives you.
Keep the file as a PNG. If an app converts it to JPG, the transparent corners turn white or black, because JPG cannot store transparency.
Private by design
Many online croppers upload your photo to a server to process it. This one does the cropping in your browser. The picture is read from your device, drawn on the page and saved back to your device. It is never sent anywhere, which matters when the photo is of your face.
No photo to use?
If you would rather not use a photo at all, build a character with the PFP maker, download it and crop it here. Press "Try a sample" above to see how a character looks in the circle.
Questions people ask
The crop tool runs entirely in your browser. No account, no upload and no watermark.

What file do I get?
A round PNG with transparent corners, at 256, 512 or 1024 pixels.
Which image types can I open?
Any image your browser can display, including JPG, PNG, WebP and GIF. You can also paste an image from the clipboard.
