What OC Maker Studio is
OC Maker Studio is a free website for making original characters, usually called OCs. You pick a hairstyle, eyes, an outfit and extras such as ears, wings or a tail, color every part the way you want and save the result as a PNG image. There is no account, no sign-up and no app to install.
The maker has 16 part categories and 130 parts. Every part accepts any color, either from a quick palette or from a full color picker. The same character can be saved as a full body image, as a square profile picture, or next to a second character in the couple maker.
Why the site exists
Many people want to see a character from a story, a roleplay or a game on screen without drawing it from scratch. Image makers are a popular way to do that, but they often come with limits: a few fixed colors, a sign-up screen before the first click, or rules that forbid using the picture as a profile picture or in a project.
OC Maker Studio was built to remove those limits. It opens ready to use, it lets you pick any color, and the characters you make are yours to use for personal and commercial projects. The goal is a tool that is quick enough for a profile picture and flexible enough for a character sheet.
What you can make
- Full body characters for character sheets, story covers and reference images.
- Profile pictures in a square portrait format for Discord, YouTube, TikTok, Twitch, Instagram and other platforms.
- Couples and duos, with each character edited separately and saved together in one picture.
- Cropped photos with the circle and square PFP tools, which turn any photo into a round or square profile picture.
Each maker page opens with a different starting character and a short guide for that style, so you can begin from something close to what you have in mind.
How the maker works
Every part is a vector drawing made for this tool. When you pick a part, your browser stacks the drawings in the right order and paints them with your colors. The PNG is created on your own device when you press Download. Nothing is sent to a server, and your work in progress is saved in your own browser, so you can close the tab and continue later.
Because the parts are vectors, the whole maker is small and loads quickly, including on a phone connection. You can also copy a link that reopens your exact character on another device.
Who runs it
OC Maker Studio is an independent project. It is not part of a larger company and is not connected to any image maker platform, game or publisher. The site is written in English and translated into Spanish, Japanese, French, German, Portuguese, Korean and Italian.
How the site is paid for
The maker is free and will stay free. To cover hosting and development, pages may show advertising served by Google AdSense. Ads never unlock features, and you never have to watch one to download your character. How advertising uses cookies is explained in our privacy policy.
How it relates to Picrew
Picrew is an image maker platform at picrew.me, run by TetraChroma Inc. OC Maker Studio is not Picrew, is not affiliated with it and does not host or copy any Picrew image maker. Some pages name games, shows and other franchises so that fans can find a maker for their kind of character. Those names belong to their owners, and those pages are not endorsed by them.
