Makers on Picrew

Picrew hosts thousands of image makers drawn by different artists, so it has far more art styles than any single tool. Each maker has its own color sets and its own usage rules.

Choose Picrew when you want one specific artist's style. Choose this maker when you want speed, free color choice and clear usage rights.

People search for a Picrew OC maker when they have a character in their head and want to see it on screen without drawing it from scratch. This page is a maker built for exactly that. You pick a hairstyle, a face, an outfit and a few extras, recolor anything, then save the result as a PNG.

Everything runs in your browser. Your character is saved on your own device, so you can close the tab and continue later.

What is a Picrew OC maker?

Picrew is a Japanese website run by TetraChroma Inc. where artists publish "image makers". Each image maker is a set of layered drawings: you tap through hair, eyes, clothes and accessories, and the site stacks your choices into one picture. It works like a dress-up game made by an illustrator.

OC stands for original character, a character you invented rather than one from an existing series. So a Picrew OC maker is an image maker that is flexible enough to build your own character: neutral base, lots of hairstyles, a wide color range and outfits that are not tied to one franchise.

The maker on this page follows the same idea with one art style and no setup. It is an independent tool and is not part of Picrew.

How to make your OC here

You do not need a tutorial, but this order saves time because early choices affect later ones.

  • Start with the face. Open Bangs, Hair and Eyes first. These three decide who the character is more than any outfit.
  • Set the palette. Use the swatches for a quick pick or the last round button in each row to open the full color picker and choose any shade.
  • Dress the body. Top, Bottom and Shoes each have their own color. The Detail color drives stripes, ties, bows and stickers.
  • Add one signature item. A halo, a scar, fox ears, a witch hat. One strong item reads better than five small ones.
  • Save it. Download a PNG, or use Copy link to get a URL that reopens this exact character on any device.

Is your character free to use?

Yes. Characters you make with this maker can be used for profile pictures, roleplay sheets, story covers, Discord and Twitch avatars, and commercial projects such as book covers or stream overlays. Credit is appreciated but not required.

That is different from Picrew, where every image maker has its own rules. On Picrew, each maker shows four permission labels: Personal, Non-Commercial, Commercial and Processing. An artist may allow profile pictures but forbid editing, or allow personal use but not commercial use. If you use Picrew, always read the labels on the maker page before you post or edit a result. Our guide to Picrew permissions explains each label.

Tips for a character that feels like yours

A maker gives you parts. The character comes from the decisions between them.

  • Keep to three main colors. One for hair, one for clothes, one accent. Reuse the accent on a bow, a tie or a sticker so the design looks planned.
  • Break one rule. A soft outfit with sharp eyes, or a formal blazer with messy hair. A single contrast makes a design memorable.
  • Let the background support the character. Pick a background color that does not appear in the outfit so the silhouette stays clear at small sizes.
  • Write three facts. A name, something they want, something they are bad at. A picture with a story is an OC. A picture without one is an avatar.
